Job Title: Head of Department, Petroleum Geology (Seismic Analysis)
Location: Abuja (FCT)

Reports to: Executive Director, Asset and Field Development
Department: Subsurface / Geosciences
Role Purpose
- An experienced Petroleum Geologist with strong seismic interpretation and analysis capability is required to lead the Geosciences function, providing subsurface insight that underpins exploration, appraisal, and field development decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead seismic data interpretation, structural and stratigraphic analysis to support exploration and field development
- Integrate geological, geophysical, and petrophysical data to build robust subsurface models
- Identify and evaluate prospects and leads for exploration and appraisal drilling
- Support well planning and geosteering in collaboration with drilling and reservoir engineering teams
- Provide geological input into reserves estimation and resource evaluation
- Liaise with external seismic contractors, data vendors, and technical partners
- Ensure quality control and integrity of geological and geophysical databases
- Mentor and build capacity within the geosciences team
Qualifications and Experience
- B.Sc / M.Sc Degree in Geology, Geophysics, or related Earth Science discipline
- 10–12 years' experience in petroleum geology, with strong hands-on seismic interpretation experience
- Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g. Petrel, Landmark, Kingdom Suite)
- Experience in prospect generation, basin analysis, and reserves evaluation
- Sound understanding of Nigerian sedimentary basins is an advantage
- Strong analytical, report-writing, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
