We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer, Rotating - Office Design

Location: Lagos

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and prepare datasheets, GA drawings, and vendor documents for rotary equipment.
  • Technical evaluation of pumps, compressors, blowers, agitators, and vacuum systems.
  • Ensure proper material selection for chlorine, caustic, brine, and hydrogen services.
  • Supervise installation, alignment, grouting, and commissioning activities.
  • Review vibration analysis, performance curves, and test certificates.
  • Participate in FAT and witness shop testing.
  • Monitor equipment performance and recommend reliability improvements.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for failures and repeated breakdowns.
  • Coordinate with Process, Electrical, and Instrumentation teams.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards for hydrogen and chlorine handling areas.
  • Review spares philosophy and preventive maintenance plans.
  • Support shutdown planning and plant start-up activities.

Requirements
Qualification:

  • B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory).

Experience:

  • 8–10 years of experience in Chemical / Petrochemical / Refinery plant.
  • 3–5 years hands-on experience in rotary equipment handling.
  • Experience in commissioning and shutdown maintenance preferred.
  • EPC project exposure is an added advantage.
  • Experience in fabrication, erection, commissioning, and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment.

Functional Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Centrifugal & Reciprocating Pumps.
  • Experience in Chlorine Compressors and Hydrogen Compressors.
  • Knowledge of Vacuum pumps and brine circulation systems.
  • Understanding of Mechanical seals (single, double, dry gas seals).
  • Familiarity with API 610, API 617, API 618 standards.
  • Experience in vibration analysis and condition monitoring.
  • Knowledge of corrosion-resistant materials (Monel, Hastelloy, Titanium, FRP lined pumps).
