We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Project Engineer
Location: Lagos
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage engineering activities across all disciplines (Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil).
- Support project planning, scheduling, and execution in line with approved timelines and budgets.
- Review engineering deliverables (drawings, datasheets, specifications) to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Interface with EPC contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor project progress and prepare regular reports on status, risks, and performance.
- Assist in procurement activities including technical bid evaluations and vendor clarifications.
- Ensure compliance with HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support construction, installation, and commissioning activities on-site.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in project engineering within oil & gas, petrochemical, or chemical plant projects.
- Experience working in EPC project environments is preferred.
- Exposure to construction and commissioning phases is an added advantage.
Certifications:
- Project Management certification (e.g., PMP) is an advantage.
- Membership in a professional engineering body (e.g., COREN, NSE) is an added advantage.
Functional Skills:
- Strong understanding of chemical plant processes and systems.
- Knowledge of project management principles (planning, scheduling, cost control).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings (PFDs, P&IDs, layouts).
- Familiarity with EPC project execution methodologies.
- Basic knowledge of procurement and contract management.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera is an advantage).
- Good understanding of HSE standards and industrial regulations.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills (Excel, PowerPoint).
