We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: SOC Analyst

Location: Lagos 
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Objective(s)

  • SOC analysts are considered the last line of defense and they usually work as part of a large security team, working alongside security managers and cyber security engineers.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Threat Monitoring & Detection: Continuously monitor security alerts and events using SIEM platforms and other cybersecurity tools to identify potential threats, suspicious activities, and system vulnerabilities.
  • Incident Investigation: Support the investigation of security incidents by gathering logs, analyzing indicators of compromise (IOCs), and preparing initial incident reports for review by senior analysts.
  • Security Tools Management: Assist in configuring, maintaining, and tuning security tools such as firewalls, IDS / IPS, endpoint protection, and antivirus systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Digital Forensics Support: Apply basic computer forensic techniques to collect and analyze digital evidence during investigations, ensuring integrity and proper chain of custody.
  • Incident Response Execution: Participate in incident response activities, including containment, eradication, and recovery efforts, in alignment with internal security playbooks and escalation procedures. 
  • Security Data Analysis: Analyze event and network traffic data to identify abnormal patterns or trends, contributing insights to strengthen threat detection and mitigation strategies.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and maintain clear documentation on security incidents, investigation findings, and resolution steps in line with regulatory and audit requirements.
  • Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with internal IT, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams to resolve security issues efficiently and escalate complex cases as needed.
  • Third-Party Interaction: Liaise with managed security service providers (MSSPs) and vendors to ensure effective communication and timely resolution of identified security events.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay informed about emerging threats, compliance obligations, and industry best practices in fintech cybersecurity to continuously improve technical capability and operational effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Education Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field. General Experience
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, AlienVault), knowledge of network protocols, familiarity with IDS / IPS systems, and understanding of firewall management.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation.
  • Experience: 4- 6 years of experience in IT security, network security, or a similar role in a security operations environment.
