Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Pre-school)

Location: Katampe Extension, Abuja
Employment Type: Full-time
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm

Job Overview

• We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team. The TeachingAssistant will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to children aged between 4 - 5 years in our nursery.
• The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for working with young children, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to learn. Experience in early years and EYFS settings in particular is an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that promote the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development of children.
• Providing pastoral care and support to children in a secure learning environment.
• Providing responsible care and maintaining impeccable hygiene and safety standards.
• Ensuring a safe, sanitary and orderly environment.
• Maintaining professional and positive relationships with parents, children, and staff.
• Observing and monitoring children's progress and behaviour, and communicating with teachers, or parents/guardians as needed.
• Assisting with meal times, toileting/diapering and other daily routines.
• Cleaning up after the children.
• Collaborating with other caregivers and staff members to ensure the smooth operation of the nursery school.
• Assisting with developing and producing visual aids and teaching resources.

Requirements

• Minimum certification NCE
• Proficiency in oral and written English
• A positive attitude and a genuine passion for working with children
• Experience working with children who are less than 5 years
• Creativity and willingness to sing, dance and be silly with young children.
• Must possess exceptional listening skills, compassion and ability to keep composure
• Must be able to work effectively as part of a team
• Previous experience in a professional childcare environment is an added advantage.
