We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: HVAC Technician & Installer

Locations: Delta and Rivers

Description

  • The HVAC Technician & Installer is responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems in commercial, industrial, and oil & gas facilities.
  • The role ensures HVAC systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, manufacturer recommendations, and HSE requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Installation & Commissioning:

  • Install HVAC equipment, including split units, package units, VRF/VRV systems, chillers, AHUs, FCUs, ductwork, ventilation systems, and exhaust systems.
  • Install refrigerant piping, condensate drains, insulation, and associated HVAC accessories.
  • Carry out pressure testing, vacuuming, refrigerant charging, and system commissioning.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, layouts, and technical specifications to ensure accurate installation.
  • Ensure installations comply with project requirements, relevant standards, and manufacturer guidelines.

Maintenance & Repairs:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC systems.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in compressors, motors, thermostats, electrical controls, fans, pumps, and refrigeration systems.
  • Replace defective components and ensure systems are restored to optimal performance.
  • Conduct routine inspections and performance testing to identify potential issues.

Troubleshooting:

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration faults.
  • Use testing instruments to identify system failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance requests.

Health, Safety & Compliance:

  • Adhere to company HSE policies and permit-to-work procedures.
  • Ensure safe handling and disposal of refrigerants and other hazardous materials.
  • Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain maintenance logs, inspection reports, and service records.
  • Record spare parts usage and equipment history.
  • Report equipment defects and recommend corrective actions or replacement where necessary.
  • Assist in preparing work completion reports.

Teamwork:

  • Work collaboratively with engineers, electricians, facility personnel, and project teams.
  • Support project execution and ensure work is completed within agreed timelines.
  • Mentor junior technicians and apprentices where required.

Qualifications

  • National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND), Trade Test, or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years' experience in HVAC installation and maintenance, preferably within commercial, industrial, or oil & gas environments.

Professional Certifications:

  • HVAC/Refrigeration Certification from a recognized institution.
  • Trade Test Certificate (Grade I, II, or III) is an advantage.
  • Valid HSE Level 1, 2, or 3 Certification.
  • Manufacturer training/certification (e.g., Daikin, Carrier, Trane, York, LG, Mitsubishi Electric) is an added advantage.
  • First Aid Certification (preferred).

Technical Competencies:

  • Installation and commissioning of HVAC systems.
  • Refrigeration systems and refrigerant handling.
  • Air balancing and ventilation systems.
  • Electrical wiring and HVAC control systems.
  • Preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Fault diagnosis and troubleshooting.
  • Reading engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Use of HVAC testing and diagnostic tools.
