Job Title: Utility / Maintenance Officer

Location: Ijesha, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The Utility/Maintenance Officer is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of the Company's utilities, equipment, machinery, and facility infrastructure.
  • The role supports uninterrupted production by carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain utility equipment, including generators, compressors, boilers, chillers, air handling units, water treatment systems, and other facility utilities.
  • Carry out preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on production machinery and utility equipment.
  • Inspect equipment regularly and promptly identify and report faults or abnormalities.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and utility-related issues to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Ensure all utility systems operate efficiently to support production activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment inspections, repairs, and spare parts usage.
  • Monitor utility consumption and recommend measures to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensure tools, equipment, and the maintenance workshop are kept clean, organized, and in good working condition.
  • Comply with all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures while carrying out maintenance activities.
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests, including after-hours and weekend call-outs when required.
  • Support the installation, commissioning, and testing of new equipment and machinery.
  • Coordinate with Production, Quality Assurance, and other departments to ensure smooth plant operations.
  • Escalate major equipment failures and maintenance concerns to the Utility/Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Management.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess a B.Sc Degree with 1 - 2 years experience.

Salary
N120,000 per month.
