Job Summary
- We are seeking an analytical and highly experienced Senior Accountant to lead client engagements and manage corporate financial portfolios at Wells Accounting & Tax Services Ltd.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing complex financial transactions, preparing enterprise management reports, ensuring statutory and tax compliance, and mentoring junior accounting staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Review general ledgers, financial statements, and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure compliance with IFRS.
- Oversee the end-to-end month-end and year-end financial closing processes for enterprise clients.
- Manage fixed asset registers, depreciation schedules, and inventory tracking systems.
- Coordinate directly with Tax and Audit departments to prepare documentation for statutory audits and corporate tax filings.
- Analyze financial data to generate monthly management reports, variance analyses, and cash flow forecasts.
- Present financial insights, budgets, and strategic recommendations directly to client management teams.
- Supervise, train, and guide Account Officers, Assistants, and Interns to elevate technical capabilities across the unit.
- Ensure all client accounting processes conform strictly to standard corporate accounting principles and Nigerian tax laws.
- Manage accounts payable/receivable escalations and oversee high-value corporate treasury functions.
- Provide strategic financial advisory and administrative support to management as required.
Role Requirements
- Minimum of 3–4 years' relevant experience in taxation and accounting.
- Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience as a Senior Accountant, preferably within a professional services, audit, or public accounting firm.
- Mastery of cloud accounting ecosystems (Xero, QuickBooks Online, Sage) and advanced Excel proficiency (VLOOKUPS, Pivot Tables).
- Sound knowledge of Nigerian accounting practices, financial reporting, and compliance standards.
- Strong communication, presentation, and leadership skills with experience managing small teams.
- High level of technical accuracy, integrity, and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time-management skills to run multiple client accounts simultaneously.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet strict financial deadlines, and prioritize deliverables.
- Professional accounting certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA) is required.
Salary
N300,000 per month.
