Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost estimates, and project budgets from drawings and specifications.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and material quantification for construction projects.
- Prepare, review, and analyze tender documents, quotations, and bid submissions.
- Source, evaluate, negotiate, and recommend suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to achieve the best value for money.
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including preparation of Requests for Quotations (RFQs), bid evaluations, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and contract awards.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contract conditions with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Monitor material procurement schedules to ensure timely delivery and prevent project delays.
- Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, store personnel, and logistics teams to ensure procurement aligns with project requirements.
- Review technical specifications to ensure procured materials and equipment meet project and quality requirements.
- Verify supplier invoices, delivery notes, and payment requests against purchase orders and contract terms.
- Prepare interim valuations, variation orders, final accounts, and cost reports.
- Monitor project costs against approved budgets and identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering.
- Assess and evaluate subcontractor claims, variations, and payment applications.
- Maintain an approved supplier database and periodically evaluate supplier performance.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, contractual obligations, and ethical procurement practices.
- Prepare periodic procurement and cost reports for management.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with the store team to optimize stock while minimizing waste and excess inventory.
- Participate in contract negotiations and administer subcontract agreements.
- Identify commercial risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
- Support project planning by providing accurate cost forecasts and procurement schedules.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management in line with the objectives of the role.
Requirements
- Candidates should possess a relevant qualification with Procurement experience.
Salary
N300,000 - N450,000 per month.
