Job Title: Legal Officer
Location: Abuja (FCT)
About the Role
- Provide sound legal advice and support to the organisation, ensuring legal compliance, effective contract management and protection of the organisation’s interests.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate contracts, agreements, MOUs and other legal documents.
- Provide legal advice to management on corporate, commercial and regulatory matters.
- Ensure organisational compliance with applicable laws, regulations and healthcare-sector requirements.
- Manage legal risk and advise on mitigation.
- Coordinate external counsel and manage litigation, disputes and claims.
- Maintain the contract register and ensure timely renewals and obligation tracking.
- Support corporate governance, board, and statutory and secretarial matters.
- Advise on data protection (NDPA), patient and consumer rights, and confidentiality.
- Support regulatory filings, licences and engagements with authorities.
- Develop legal templates, policies and awareness across the organisation.
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Call to the Nigerian Bar (BL), plus completion of NYSC or a valid exemption where applicable.
Experience:
- 4–6 years of post-call legal experience, ideally in-house or in commercial practice.
