We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Pastry Chef

Location: Irepotuntun, Bonke Area - Oyo
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • The Pastry Chef will beresponsible for producing high-qualitycakes, pastries, desserts, and other baked goods that meet the organization's quality standards.
  • The role requires creativity, precision, and a strong understanding of baking techniques while ensuring efficient production, excellent food safety practices, and minimal product wastage.

Key Responsibilities
Production:

  • Prepare and bake a variety of cakes, pastries,and other baked products according to approved recipes and production schedules.
  • Ensure consistency in the taste, texture, appearance, and quality of all baked products.
  • Decorate cakes and pastries to meet customer and company standards.
  • Develop new pastry and dessert recipes with management approval.
  • Meet daily production targets without compromising quality.

Quality Control:

  • Inspect ingredients and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Monitor baking times, temperatures, and product consistency.
  • Ensure products are fresh, properly packaged, and attractively presented.
  • Address quality issues promptly and recommend improvements.

Food Safety & Hygiene:

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary pastry kitchen at all times.
  • Comply with all food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
  • Store ingredients and finished products appropriately to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage.
  • Ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of baking equipment and workstations.

Inventory & Cost Control:

  • Monitor the use of baking ingredients and minimize wastage.
  • Ensure efficient utilization of raw materials to reduce production costs.

Equipment Management:

  • Operate ovens, mixers, dough sheeters, proofers, and other bakery equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Report faulty equipment immediately for repair or replacement.
  • Ensure all equipment is cleaned and maintained after use.

Teamwork:

  • Work collaboratively with bakers, cooks, and other kitchen staff.
  • Support the achievement of departmental production and quality goals.

Requirements
Education:

  • Minimum of an SSCE, OND, or equivalent qualification.
  • Professional training or certification in Baking, Pastry Arts, Catering, or Culinary Arts is an added advantage.

Experience:

  • 2 - 3 years' experience as a Pastry Chef or Baker in a bakery, restaurant, hotel, or catering establishment.
  • Proven experience producingcakes, pastries, desserts, and confectioneries.
  • Experience in cake decoration and icing is an added advantage.

Salary
N80,000 - N100,000 monthly.
