We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Restaurant Cook

Location: Irepotuntun, Bonke Area - Oyo
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking meals according to the restaurant's recipes and quality standards.
  • The role involves ensuring food is prepared safely, maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen, minimizing food waste, and supporting the efficient operation of the kitchen to deliver an excellent dining experience for customers.

Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation:

  • Prepare, cook, and present meals in accordance with the restaurant's standards.
  • Ensure meals are served fresh, attractive, and on time.
  • Assist in preparing ingredients before cooking (washing, cutting, marinating, and portioning).
  • Maintain consistency in the taste and quality of all meals.

Kitchen Operations:

  • Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and ready for daily operations.
  • Ensure all cooking equipment and utensils are cleaned and properly stored after use.
  • Follow production schedules and complete assigned tasks promptly.
  • Support the Head Chef or Kitchen Supervisor with daily kitchen activities.

Food Safety & Hygiene:

  • Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and kitchen sanitation.
  • Store food items properly to preserve freshness and prevent spoilage.
  • Follow all food safety, health, and hygiene regulations.
  • Ensure proper handling of raw and cooked food to avoid contamination.

Inventory & Cost Control:

  • Use ingredients efficiently to minimize waste.
  • Report damaged or expired food items immediately.
  • Assist with stock-taking and inventory management.
  • Notify management when ingredients or kitchen supplies are running low.

Teamwork:

  • Work effectively with other kitchen and restaurant staff.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and cooperate with team members during busy periods.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and management.

Requirements
Education:

  • Minimum of SSCE or its equivalent.
  • Vocational training in catering or culinary arts is an added advantage.

Experience:

  • 1–2 years' experience as a Cook in a restaurant, hotel, fast-food outlet, or catering service.
  • Experience preparing a variety of Nigerian dishes is essential.

Salary
N50,000 - N70,000 per month.
