Job Title: Head of Audit

Location: Marina, Lagos

Job Summary

• They are seeking a highly experienced, strategic, and results-driven Head of Audit to lead its internal audit function.
• The ideal candidate will provide independent assurance on risk management, governance, internal controls, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency across the bank.
• This role offers an excellent opportunity for a seasoned audit professional to contribute to the growth, sustainability, and regulatory compliance of a leading financial institution.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Bank's Internal Audit Strategy and Annual Audit Plan.
• Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, governance frameworks, and risk management systems.
• Conduct risk-based audits across all business units, branches, and support functions.
• Ensure compliance with CBN Regulations, NDIC Guidelines, AML/CFT Requirements, BOFIA Provisions, and National Microfinance Banking Standards.
• Review loan portfolio quality, credit processes, collections, and portfolio-at-risk indicators.
• Present audit findings and recommendations to executive management, the board audit committee, and regulators.
• Lead fraud investigations and monitor implementation of corrective actions.
• Provide advisory support on emerging risks, digital banking controls, cybersecurity risks, and operational resilience.
• Supervise and mentor audit team members while driving a high-performance culture.

Minimum Requirements
Academic Qualification:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Banking & Finance, Business Administration, or a Related Discipline.

Professional Certifications (Mandatory):

• ICAN (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria).

Professional Certifications (Preferred):

• MCP (Microfinance Certified Practitioner).
• Additional certifications are an advantage: CIA, CISA, ACCA, CRMA, CAMS.
