We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Location: Ikorodu, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance for all plant machinery.
  • Ensure maximum availability and reliability of production equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical failures with minimum downtime.
  • Maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, steam, thermal oil, and compressed air systems.
  • Oversee maintenance of hot press, cold press, peeling line, dryers, conveyors, glue kitchen, sanding machines, dust collection systems, pumps, boilers, compressors, and other utilities.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for major equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor spare parts inventory and coordinate procurement of critical spares.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE standards and safe maintenance practices.
  • Prepare maintenance reports, machine history records, and maintenance schedules.
  • Lead maintenance technicians and coordinate with production for planned shutdowns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5 – 8 years of experience in a manufacturing industry (plywood, wood processing, steel, cement, FMCG, paper, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, welding, fabrication, pumps, boilers, compressors, and preventive maintenance.
  • xperience with TPM, preventive maintenance, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong troubleshooting and team management skills.
