Job Title: SAP HCM Payroll Consultant

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

  • A highly experienced and knowledgeable SAP HCM Consultant to join Dangote SAP Delivery Center in India. This pivotal role will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, configuration, and support of SAP Human Capital Management solutions, ensuring they align with business objectives and compliance requirements.
  • The ideal candidate will possess deep functional and technical expertise across various SAP HCM modules, with a strong ability to translate complex HR processes into effective system solutions and guide clients through successful transformations.

Responsibilities
Client Engagement & Requirements Analysis:

  • Lead workshops and discussions with HR business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document detailed business requirements for HCM processes.
  • Translate complex business needs into functional and technical specifications for SAP HCM solutions.
  • Advise clients on SAP HCM best practices, process improvements, and system capabilities.

SAP HCM Solution Design & Configuration:

  • Design, configure, and implement SAP HCM modules, including but not limited to:
    • Personnel Administration (PA): Master data, infotypes, organizational assignment.
    • Organizational Management (OM): Organizational structure, positions, jobs, cost centers.
    • Time Management (TM): Work schedules, absence/attendance, time evaluation, quota generation.
    • Payroll (PY): Schemas, rules, wage types, gross-to-net calculations, tax reporting, payroll posting to FI/CO.
  • Develop and maintain SAP HCM schemas and personnel calculation rules (PCRs).
  • Ensure proper integration points between HCM modules and with other SAP modules (e.g., FI/CO for payroll posting, PM for shift planning).

Custom Development & Enhancements:

  • Write detailed functional specifications for ABAP developers for custom reports, interfaces, conversions, and enhancements (RICEF).
  • Collaborate closely with technical teams throughout the development lifecycle, from design to testing.
  • Perform configuration and customization using IMG (Implementation Guide).

Testing & Quality Assurance:

  • Develop comprehensive test plans and scenarios.
  • Lead and execute unit testing, integration testing, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Manage defect resolution and ensure system quality and accuracy.

Data Migration & Reporting:

  • Assist in data mapping, extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) activities for HCM data migration.
  • Design and develop HR reports using standard SAP reporting tools (Ad-hoc Query, SAP Query, Infoset Query) and provide specifications for custom reports.

Support & Training:

  • Provide expert-level functional support for SAP HCM modules, troubleshooting complex issues and providing timely resolution.
  • Develop training materials and conduct end-user and super-user training sessions.
  • Assist in post-go-live support and hyper care activities.

Project Leadership & Mentorship:

  • Act as a lead consultant on SAP HCM projects, ensuring project deliverables are met on time and within budget.
  • Manage project workstreams, scope, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Mentor and guide junior SAP HCM consultants, sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of consulting methodologies and internal knowledge base.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of hands-on experience as an SAP HCM Consultant.
  • Proven experience with at least 3-4 full lifecycle SAP HCM implementations (from blueprint to go-live and support).
  • Deep functional expertise in core SAP HCM modules: Personnel Administration (PA), Organizational Management (OM), Time Management (TM), and Payroll (PY).
  • Strong understanding of HR business processes, best practices, and regulatory compliance.
  • Extensive experience with SAP HCM configuration, including schemas, personnel calculation rules (PCRs), wage types, and infotypes.
  • Ability to write clear and concise functional specifications for custom developments.
  • Solid experience with various testing phases and data migration activities.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong client-facing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities.

Desired Skills (Plus Points):

  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA HCM.
  • Knowledge of other SAP HCM modules such as Benefits (BN), Recruitment (RE), Personnel Development (PD), or Training and Event Management (TEM).
  • Point to point Integration with SuccessFactors for data replication
  • Familiarity with ABAP debugging to assist with issue resolution.
  • Relevant SAP HCM certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP HCM Payroll, SAP Certified Application Associate – Human Resources with SAP ERP 6.0).
  • Experience in a consulting firm environment.
  • Knowledge of integration points with other SAP modules like FI/CO.
