Job Title: Early Years Teacher

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Description

• As an Early Years Teacher you areresponsible for the holistic development of children (usually aged 0–5).
• They plan engaging, play-based lessons, observe and assess progress, and ensure a safe, stimulating classroom environment while maintaining strong partnerships with parents.

Key Responsibilities

• Lesson Planning: Create age-appropriate lesson plans and daily activities incorporating creative arts, movement, and play.
• Child Development: Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth.
• Assessments: Regularly observe, document, and track each child's developmental milestones and progress.
• Classroom Management: Maintain a secure, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment while proactively ensuring health, safety, and safeguarding protocols.
• Parental Communication: Update parents on their child’s daily routines and developmental progress through regular feedback and conferences.

Core Requirements

• Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or a related discipline. Often, an additional PGDE or Montessori/EYFS certification is required.
• Experience: Previous experience teaching in an early years setting, typically ranging from 1 to 5 years.
• Soft Skills: High levels of patience, warmth, creativity, and strong classroom management capabilities.
