Job Title: Business Development Officer

Job Summary

  • Our client is looking to hire a BDO to join their team.
  • The Business Development Officer (BDO) is responsible for driving business growth by identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic client relationships, preparing winning proposals, and achieving sales targets across the company’s service portfolio.
  • The role requires a proactive, target-driven professional with experience in B2B sales, preferably within HSE consulting, engineering services, industrial inspection, certification, environmental services, or energy management.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across the Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, FMCG, Power, Construction, Telecommunications, and Government sectors.
  • Develop and implement annual and quarterly business development plans.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Generate qualified leads through networking, cold outreach, referrals, digital platforms, and industry events.
  • Maintain a robust sales pipeline using the company’s CRM.

Sales & Revenue Generation:

  • Achieve monthly and annual revenue targets.
  • Convert enquiries into profitable contracts.
  • Lead negotiations until contract award.
  • Coordinate bid submissions and tender responses.

Proposal Development:

  • Prepare technical and commercial proposals in collaboration with technical teams.
  • Develop capability statements and company presentations.
  • Ensure timely submission of bids and RFQs.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Conduct regular client visits.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing clients.
  • Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities.
  • Resolve client concerns promptly.

Market Intelligence:

  • Monitor competitors.
  • Identify new market opportunities.
  • Track government and private sector procurement opportunities.

Reporting:

  • Weekly sales reports.
  • Monthly pipeline reports.
  • Tender tracker.
  • Revenue forecast.
  • Client engagement reports.

Requirements

  • Interested candidates should possess qualification and 2-3 years of experience.

Salary
N250,000 gross per month.
