We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Core and Network Engineer

Location: Lekki Phase 1 (Admiralty Way), Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Role Overview

  • You will design, plan, deploy, and optimize the transmission and IP core network that supports rural and semi-urban connectivity.
  • The role covers satellite-backed transmission and IP core routing as a single integrated function.
  • You will ensure resilience, scalability, and cost efficiency across the network. You will own the end-to-end transmission and routing layer, from backhaul planning to core IP integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design transmission architecture for satellite, microwave, and fiber backhaul.
  • Plan end-to-end connectivity for new site rollouts.
  • Design and manage IP core routing and switching architecture.
  • Configure and maintain routers, switches, and transmission equipment.
  • Implement redundancy, protection, and failover mechanisms.
  • Manage IP addressing schemes and routing protocols.
  • Support integration with RAN, core network, and service platforms.
  • Lead transmission and IP core acceptance for new sites.
  • Troubleshoot network faults across transmission and routing layers.
  • Monitor performance and optimize latency, throughput, and availability.
  • Maintain accurate network documentation and as-built records.
  • Support vendor evaluation, technical trials, and capacity planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in transmission and IP networking.
  • Strong hands-on experience with IP core routing and switching.
  • Experience with satellite or microwave transmission systems.
  • Solid understanding of routing protocols and network segmentation.
  • Proven troubleshooting and fault isolation capability.
  • Experience supporting multi -site or rural deployments is an advantage

  • Satellite transmission systems.

  • Fiber backhaul.
  • IP routing and switching.
  • MPLS and VPN architectures.
  • Network monitoring and fault management systems.

Preferred Certifications:

  • CCNP or equivalent IP networking certification.
  • Transmission or microwave vendor certifications.
