Job Title: Farm Manager

Location: New Karu LGA, Abuja (FCT) 
Employment Type: Full-Time (Onsite)

Job Summary

• We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and highly organized Farm Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a commercial farm.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for managing farm production, supervising farm workers, ensuring optimal use of farm resources, and implementing best agricultural practices to maximize productivity and profitability.
• The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership skills, practical farming experience, and the ability to effectively manage both crop and livestock operations (where applicable) while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations and general management of the farm.
• Develop and implement farm production plans to achieve operational and financial objectives.
• Supervise, coordinate, and monitor the activities of farm workers to ensure productivity and efficiency.
• Plan and manage planting, harvesting, irrigation, fertilization, pest control, and other farming activities.
• Monitor the health and productivity of crops and/or livestock and implement appropriate management practices.
• Ensure the proper maintenance and utilization of farm equipment, machinery, and facilities.
• Manage farm inventories, including seeds, fertilizers, chemicals, animal feed, and other agricultural supplies.
• Maintain accurate records of farm operations, production outputs, expenses, and inventory.
• Prepare periodic operational and financial reports for management.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and agricultural regulations.
• Monitor farm budgets and implement cost-control measures to improve profitability.
• Identify operational challenges and recommend practical solutions to improve productivity and efficiency.
• Stay updated on modern agricultural techniques, technologies, and industry best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Agriculture, Agricultural Science, Animal Science, Crop Science, Agronomy, or a related field.
• 3 - 5 years’ experience managing a commercial farm.
• Practical knowledge of modern farming techniques and agricultural best practices.
• Experience in managing farm personnel and daily farm operations.
• Strong understanding of crop production, livestock management (where applicable), irrigation, and farm maintenance.
• Proficiency in record-keeping, budgeting, and operational reporting.
• Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions.
