Job Title: Peeling Mechanic

Location: Ibafo, Ogun

Description

• We are seeking a skilled and experienced Peeling Mechanic to join our operations team in Ibafo.
• The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and optimal functioning of peeling machines and related equipment within our production facility, ensuring maximum machine uptime and production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and repair peeling machines and associated mechanical equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out timely repairs to minimize production downtime.
• Perform routine inspections, servicing, and preventive maintenance on peeling machines and production equipment.
• Ensure peeling machines are operating efficiently and meeting production requirements.
• Monitor equipment performance and recommend corrective actions or improvements where necessary.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement effective solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, repairs, and spare parts usage.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, maintenance procedures, and company policies.
• Collaborate closely with production and operations teams to support uninterrupted production activities.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery when required.

Requirements

• Minimum of OND, Trade Test, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 4–7 years' experience as a mechanic in a manufacturing, processing, or FMCG environment.
• Hands-on experience maintaining and repairing peeling machines or similar food/agricultural processing equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, bearings, conveyors, gearboxes, and maintenance practices.
• Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and manuals.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.

Preferred Candidate:

• Experience in food processing, agricultural processing, or FMCG manufacturing operations.
• Familiarity with preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
• Must reside in Ibafo, Mowe, Magboro, Arepo, Berger, or nearby environs.
