Job Title: People & Culture Lead

Location: Wuse II, Abuja
Job Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The Lead, People & Culture serves as the primary architect of human capital, organisational design, and high-performance culture across the Group and its subsidiaries. Reporting directly to the Group Managing Director and Group Chief Operating Officer, the candidate will move beyond standard administrative HR to treat talent as a core business driver.
  • This role demands an agile, system-building mindset capable of designing world-class recruitment pipelines, engineering rigorous performance management frameworks, and fostering an inclusive, high-accountability workplace culture.
  • This is a role for a proven top performer: someone who operates at ease across boardroom, operational, and front-line conversations, who is unintimidated by ambiguity or scale, and who can hold their own with senior executives while commanding the respect of every level of staff.
  • The ideal candidate will seamlessly balance empathetic employee advocacy with strict corporate execution discipline, ensuring the team is fully equipped to deliver on high-stakes mandates across the Group's sectors.

Requirements
What We Are Looking For:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Organisational Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional HR certification (CIPM, SHRM-SCP, CIPD) is strongly preferred.
  • HR & Talent Expertise: A minimum of five (5) years of progressive HR and talent acquisition experience, with at least two (2) years in a senior or lead capacity within a multi-sector, advisory, or institutional environment.
  • Sector Talent Market Knowledge: Demonstrated, in-depth knowledge of the talent markets, compensation structures, credentialing requirements, and key professional networks across at least three of the following: management consulting, investment banking and financial advisory, SaaS technologies, energy, or manufacturing.
  • Recruitment Architecture: Proven ability to design and manage full-cycle, high-volume, and executive-level recruitment pipelines for specialised roles; experience sourcing from sector-specific channels, professional bodies, and high-performance talent networks.
  • Performance Systems Design: Demonstrated experience designing or administering a formal performance appraisal/OKR system end-to-end (not merely operating one designed by others) — including rating methodology, calibration, and consequence management.
  • Operational & Systems Skills: Hands-on proficiency with modern HRIS platforms, ATS tools, people analytics dashboards, and digital workflow automation tools; ability to translate data into actionable people strategy decisions.
  • Compliance Expertise: Thorough working knowledge of Nigerian labour law, the Nigeria Data Protection Act, and relevant international employment standards; demonstrated experience maintaining compliant HR documentation, contracts, and workplace protocols.
  • Interpersonal & Advisory Skills: Exceptional emotional intelligence, discretion, and executive presence; ability to advise both C-suite leadership and entry-level staff with equal effectiveness, and to navigate complex interpersonal and organisational dynamics with fairness and authority.
  • Track Record: A demonstrated history of top-tier individual performance — not merely managing HR processes, but personally recognised as a high performer in prior roles; comfortable operating at pace, under scrutiny, and at the same altitude as the Group's senior leadership and external partners
