Job Title: CFO / Head of Accounts

Location: Oregun, Ikeja - Lagos
Reports to: CEO / Managing Director

About the Role

• Our Client, a FMCG urgently requires a dynamic CFO / Head of Accounts to drive financial strategy and operational excellence in a fast-paced FMCG environment.
• You will own the entire finance function - from costing and pricing to budgeting, compliance, and investor reporting - while supporting aggressive growth and profitability targets.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Business Partnering:

• Develop financial strategy to support sales growth, new product launches, and market expansion
• Provide commercial insights on SKUs, channels, regions, and customer profitability
• Partner with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Production to drive margin improvement
• Lead M&A, fundraising, and investor relations activities if required.

Costing, Pricing & Margin Management*

• Own product costing: raw materials, packaging, production overheads, logistics
• Analyze trade spend, distributor margins, promotions, and discounts for ROI
• Support pricing strategy to protect margins amid inflation and FX volatility
• Conduct variance analysis: budget vs actual for COGS, OPEX, and revenue.

Accounting, Treasury & Controls:

• Oversee full accounting cycle: AP, AR, inventory, fixed assets, payroll, GL
• Manage cash flow, working capital, banking relationships, and credit facilities
• Ensure strong internal controls over inventory, wastage, and shrinkage 
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, FIRS, NAFDAC regulations, VAT, WHT, and other statutes.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting:

• Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasts for revenue, costs, and capex
• Prepare timely management accounts, board packs, and KPI dashboards
• Report on key FMCG metrics: Gross Margin, EBITDA, DSO, DIO, DOH, Trade ROI
• Liaise with external auditors and ensure audit readiness.

Team Leadership & Systems:

• Lead and develop the accounts, costing, and treasury teams
• Implement ERP/accounting systems - Sage, SAP B1, Oracle, or similar
• Automate reporting and drive efficiency in finance processes
• Ensure proper inventory valuation: FIFO, weighted average.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Education: B.Sc in Accounting, Finance, Economics and MBA / MSc DEgree etc
• ACA, ACCA, or CPA is mandatory
• Experience: 10-12 years post-qualification experience with minimum 5 years in FMCG as Finance Manager, Controller, or CFO
• Proven experience in manufacturing, distribution, and trade marketing finance
• Advanced knowledge of ERP systems + Advanced Excel. Power BI/Tableau is a plus
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, customs, and regulatory environment.

• Commercial acumen: You understand how sales, supply chain, and finance connect
• Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision making
• Experience managing high-volume, low-margin, fast-moving inventory
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight monthly closing deadlines.

Salary
N1,000,000 monthly net minimum, could be more based on qualifications and experience.
