We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Chef - Chinese Cook

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a wide variety of authentic Chinese dishes, including Sichuan, Cantonese, Hunan, and other regional specialties.
  • Develop and update Chinese menu offerings based on customer preferences and seasonal ingredients.
  • Ensure all meals are prepared consistently to high quality standards.
  • Supervise kitchen operations during food preparation and service.
  • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards in accordance with company policies.
  • Monitor food inventory and coordinate with the procurement team for timely replenishment of ingredients.
  • Minimize food waste while ensuring cost-effective kitchen operations.
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, and preservation of food items.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years' proven experience as a Chinese Chef in a reputable hotel or Chinese restaurant.
  • Strong knowledge of authentic Chinese cooking techniques, sauces, ingredients, and presentation.
  • Ability to prepare a wide variety of Chinese dishes from scratch.
  • Experience with wok cooking, dim sum, noodles, stir-fries, soups, roasted dishes, and seafood preparation is an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced kitchen.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Culinary certification or relevant hospitality qualification is an added advantage.
