Job Title: Junior Accountant

Location: Surulere, Lagos

Job Summary

• We are seeking a diligent Junior Accountant to support our client in the distribution/FMCG industry.
• The role involves managing daily financial transactions, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and supporting reporting processes.
• The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, organized, and trustworthy in handling company funds.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and issue customer invoices, record payments, and maintain receivables ledger.
• Process supplier invoices, reconcile statements, and manage payables schedule.
• Perform regular bank reconciliations and monitor cash balances.
• Assist with payroll preparation and remit statutory deductions (PAYE, Pension, NSITF, NHF).
• Prepare weekly cash flow summaries and support monthly management accounts.
• Maintain accurate financial records and provide documentation during audits.
• Handle petty cash and office-related expense payments.

Requirements

• BSc or HND in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2–4 years of accounting experience (AR/AP/general ledger).
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Sage, or equivalent; advanced Excel skills.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian statutory requirements (PAYE, VAT, WHT, Pension, NSITF, NHF).
• Experience in distribution, trading, or FMCG preferred.
• ICAN student membership or partial qualification is an advantage.
• High integrity and attention to detail.
