Job Title: Procurement Officer (Agriculture / Feed Production)

Location: Oghara, Delta

Job Summary

• The Procurement Officer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, purchasing, and ensuring the timely supply of raw materials and operational items required for the Company's feed milling and agricultural operations.
• The successful candidate must possess a sound understanding of agricultural commodity markets and supplier management to ensure uninterrupted production at optimal cost.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure raw materials for feed production, including maize, soybean meal, wheat offal, groundnut cake, limestone, premixes, additives, and other feed ingredients.
• Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers and farmers.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and supply agreements to achieve cost savings and value for money.
• Monitor market trends and commodity price movements to support strategic procurement decisions.
• Ensure timely availability of raw materials to prevent production downtime.
• Work closely with the Production, Quality Assurance, Warehouse, and Finance teams to forecast procurement requirements.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, and contract documentation.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with Company policies and ethical procurement standards.
• Conduct supplier performance evaluations and recommend improvements where necessary.
• Prepare periodic procurement reports for Management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or HND in Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Science, Animal Science, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years' relevant experience in procurement within the agriculture, feed milling, FMCG, or manufacturing sector.
• Practical knowledge of agricultural commodities and feed production inputs is essential.
• Membership of a recognized procurement or supply chain professional body will be an added advantage.
