Job Title: Senior Civil / Structural Design Engineer

Location: Mainland, Lagos

Job Summary

• Our Client is seeking an experienced and highly competent Senior Civil / Structural Design Engineer to join our Engineering Department.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for the engineering design, structural analysis, detailing coordination, quantity take-offs, Bills of Quantities (BOQ), Billsof Materials (BOM), technical specifications, and engineering support for all Civil Worksassociated with our industrial, commercial, and steel building projects.
• The primary focus of this role will be the design of reinforced concrete foundations, substructures, and Civil Works supporting Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB) andStructural Steel projects.
• In addition, the successful candidate will provide engineeringsupport for complete reinforced concrete buildings and multidisciplinary constructionprojects whenever required.
• The role requires strong technical expertise, sound engineering judgment, andclosecoordination with Structural Design, Steel Detailing, Production, Procurement, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, and Site Construction teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design reinforced concrete foundations for Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB), Structural Steel Buildings, Industrial Plants, Warehouses, Factories, Commercial Buildings, and other construction projects.
• Design isolated footings, combined footings, strip footings, raft foundations, pilecaps, machine foundations, pedestals, and column necks.
• Design reinforced concrete retaining walls, grade beams, tie beams, suspendedslabs, ground slabs, staircases, ramps, equipment foundations, undergroundstructures, and other reinforced concrete elements.
• Perform structural analysis and prepare engineering calculations, designreports, and technical documentation.
• Design foundations based on structural loading, geotechnical reports, soil bearingcapacities, and project requirements.
• Prepare complete Bills of Quantities (BOQ), Bills of Materials (BOM), Material Take-Offs (MTO), and quantity calculations for all Civil Works.
• Review architectural, structural steel, geotechnical, survey, and MEPdrawingstoensure complete engineering coordination.
• Prepare construction specifications, design sketches, engineering mark-ups, andtechnical recommendations.
• Coordinate anchor bolt layouts, embedded plates, sleeves, inserts, foundationelevations, and interfaces with the Structural Steel Engineering team.
• Coordinate with Architects, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and HVACEngineers to ensure multidisciplinary integration and clash-free designs.
• Review architectural layouts and coordinate structural requirements withinternal walls, openings, service penetrations, and building utilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of proven experience in reinforced concrete and Civil Worksdesign.
• Proven experience in industrial, commercial, warehouse, factory, and infrastructure projects.
• Strong experience in designing reinforced concrete foundations supportingstructural steel and Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB).
• Proven ability to independently perform structural analysis and reinforcedconcretedesign
• Experience in the structural design of complete reinforced concrete buildings, including residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial developments.
• Familiarity with architectural planning, internal wall layouts, building finishes, andmultidisciplinary coordination.
• Experience reviewing and coordinating Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing(MEP), HVAC, and Fire Protection drawings.
• Understanding of building services coordination and construction methodologies.
• Experience coordinating complete building projects from concept designthroughconstruction.
• Familiarity with ACI 318, ACI 350, BS 8110, Eurocode 2, Eurocode 7, AISC, MBMA, ASCE, or equivalent international design standards.  Knowledge of BIM workflows and multidisciplinary project coordination.  Experience with international engineering and construction projects.
