Job Summary
- We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Auxiliary Nurse to provide quality patient care and support healthcare professionals in delivering effective medical services.
- The successful candidate will assist with basic nursing care, monitor patients' conditions, maintain a clean and safe environment, and ensure patients receive excellent care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide basic nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Medical Doctor.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes promptly.
- Assist patients with personal hygiene, feeding, dressing, and mobility.
- Administer prescribed medications as directed by supervising healthcare professionals (where applicable and within scope).
- Prepare patients for medical examinations and procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Ensure patient rooms and treatment areas are clean, organized, and well-stocked.
- Assist with wound dressing and basic first aid procedures.
- Observe infection prevention and control protocols.
- Offer emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families.
- Respond promptly to patients' needs and emergencies.
- Carry out any other duties assigned by the supervising healthcare team.
Requirements
- Certificate in Auxiliary Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare facility.
- Basic knowledge of patient care procedures and infection prevention.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, patient, and professional attitude.
- Ability to work effectively in a team.
- Physically fit and able to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays when required
- Must be a resident in Surulere or nearby areas for easy commute.
