Blue Phoenix Deepwater Limited is a 100% Nigerian-owned company with offices in the United Kingdom and Nigeria. The company was established to be an international player with regional strength as a provider of underwater and topside IRM (Inspection, Repair, and Maintenance) of FPSOs, Rigs, SPMs, and offshore and onshore terminals /platforms, primarily in Nigeria.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Rig Manager

Location: Onshore, Nigeria
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• The Rig Manager is responsible for the day to day operations of the unit
• Acts as the formal single point of contact with the Client and is responsible for the liaison and negotiations with the Client on all matters operational
• Ensure that the unit fulfils all authority, client and company requirements with regards to the technical standard of the unit its equipment and certification
• Responsible for the operational management of their assigned unit in accordance with the policies of the Company
• Responsible for the performance of the drilling unit on behalf of the Client
• Maintain Client Relationships
• Ensure that the operation of the unit is planned and organised in accordance with established procedures, and that the necessary resources are available

Required skills and experience

• Previous experience as a Rig Manager, managing a Stena Drilling deep-water drilling unit with duel operating ram rig experience
• Previous experience with a Schlumberger Deepwater MPD operation including its hardware and control system
• 20 years relative experience
• Management of Major Emergencies.
