Job Title: HR Manager
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Responsibilties
- Talent Acquisition: Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, specifically sourcing and hiring specialized roles such as Loan Officers, Credit Analysts, Branch Managers, and Operations staff.
- Policy Implementation: Develop, update, and implement HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks in alignment with labor laws and Central Bank guidelines.
- Performance Management: Drive the performance appraisal process, design KPI frameworks, and work with branch managers to address performance gaps.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all HR activities comply with local labor laws, occupational health and safety regulations, and banking regulatory standards.
- Training & Development: Identify training needs across branches and design development programs to improve staff productivity, customer service, and credit assessment skills.
- Employee Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for employee grievances, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution, fostering a positive and highly motivated work culture.
- Compensation & Benefits: Oversee payroll administration, benefits packages, and incentive schemes (including performance-based bonuses for recovery and sales teams).
Requirements and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or any related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 to 10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role specifically within a bank or microfinance institution (MFI).
- Professional Certification: Active membership or professional certification (e.g., CIPM, SHRM, PHRi, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Nigerian labor laws, HR best practices, and regulatory frameworks governing financial institutions.
- Skills: Strong leadership, conflict resolution, interpersonal communication, and organizational skills.
- Tech-Savviness: Proficiency with HR Information Systems (HRIS), applicant tracking systems, and payroll software.
Salary
N500,000 - N600,000 monthly.
