Job Title: Finance Manager
Location: Yaba, Lagos

Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date accounting records at all times
- Ensure all transactions are correctly recorded, coded, and reconciled
- Prepare monthly management accounts: P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements
- Close monthly accounts within agreed timelines, consistently and without follow-up
- Prepare weekly and monthly finance reports for the Managing Director
- Conduct Budget vs Actual analysis and clearly explain key variances
- Identify and communicate financial risks, cost trends, and revenue opportunities
- Provide actionable recommendations that directly support business decisions
- Present financial performance in a clear, structured format accessible to non-finance stakeholders
- Build and maintain accurate product and service costing models
- Conduct product-level and business-unit profitability analysis
- Identify activities, products, or SKUs operating below target margins
- Recommend and track actions to improve margins and overall financial performance
- Support all tax filings and remittances, including CIT, VAT, WHT, and PAYE with external auditor.
- Support timely submission of all returns to FIRS and relevant state tax authorities
- Manage pension remittances in line with PENCOM regulations
- Liaise with external tax advisors and regulatory bodies as required
- Keep management informed of tax obligations, deadlines, and any changes in tax legislation that affect the business
- Maintain the company’s books in a state of audit readiness at all times
- Coordinate and manage the annual external audit process end-to-end.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- Professional qualification - CA, ACCA, or ICAN is required or near completion
- 4-5 years’ experience in Finance, Accounting, or Financial Management
- Demonstrable experience managing tax compliance (CIT, VAT, WHT, PAYE) in Nigeria
- Experience coordinating external audits
- Strong understanding of Nigerian tax law and statutory reporting requirements
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with accounting software (e.g QuickBooks, or equivalent)
- Proven ability to operate independently and manage a full finance function without a team
- High attention to detail, strong ownership mindset, and consistent delivery without supervision
- Strong communication skills — able to translate financial data into clear management insights
- Experience in retail, FMCG, manufacturing, e-commerce, or inventory-based businesses is a strong advantage.
Salary
N550,000 gross per month.
