The company was established to be an international player with regional strength as a provider of underwater and topside IRM (Inspection, Repair, and Maintenance) of FPSOs, Rigs, SPMs, and offshore and onshore terminals /platforms, primarily in Nigeria.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Dynamic Positioning Operator (DPO)
Location: Offshore, Nigeria
Employment Type: Full-time
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- D.P.O. and Junior Watchkeeper when vessel in DP and/or in conventional mode
- Responsible for the safe operation of the shift and in charge of the DP Operation unless relieved by the Senior D.P.O.
- Responsible for safe navigation and conduct of the vessel as a watchkeeper when not in DP
- Ensure that the DP watch is conducted in accordance with MTS & IMCA recommendations and in accordance with the Company DP Philosophy and/or client requirements
- Ensure the DP system is operating correctly and report any defects in accordance with the company's expectations
- Participate in ensuring that all DP checks, trials and tests are conducted to the expectations of the company
Required Skills and Experience
- Unlimited DP Certificate
- Must have recent and extensive Kongsberg K-Pos DP32 experience
- Marine Class 2 or Class 1 is highly desirable and candidates in possession of superior certificates will be given preference
- Minimum 5 years experience on a drilling vessel, and 2 years experience in the role
- Have adequate knowledge and experience of DP operations
- Have experience of the type of DP system in use or attend a manufacturer's simulation course or have received sufficient onboard training to the satisfaction of the Barge Master and Company
- Previous experience on a drilling unit
- Kongsberg HiPAP LBL Operator & Kongsberg HAIN
