Job Title: Procurement Manager, Raw Materials & Inventory

Job Summary

• We are looking for a highly experienced Procurement Manager, Raw Materials & Inventory to ensure the uninterrupted, cost-effective, and quality-compliant supply of raw materials for our feed mill operations.
• Reporting to the Managing Director/CEO (or an approved Supply Chain Director), the successful candidate will lead strategic sourcing, supplier development, inventory planning, commodity intelligence, and procurement governance. This role is critical to protecting production continuity, managing procurement costs, and supporting the profitability of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for feed ingredients, packaging materials, and other production inputs.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, aggregators, processors, traders, importers, and strategic suppliers across Nigeria.
• Lead supplier selection, evaluation, negotiation, contracting, and performance management.
• Monitor commodity markets and provide timely intelligence on pricing trends, supply risks, and sourcing opportunities.
• Manage inventory planning by establishing appropriate reorder levels, safety stock, and inventory coverage to prevent stock-outs and excess inventory.
• Work closely with Production, Quality Assurance, Warehouse, Finance, and Logistics teams to ensure timely material availability and efficient inventory control.
• Drive procurement governance, compliance with approval processes, and continuous improvement in sourcing practices.
• Prepare procurement reports covering spend, supplier performance, savings, inventory risks, and market developments.

Requirements
The ideal candidate should possess:

• A Bachelor's degree or HND in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Animal Science, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Professional certification such as CIPS, ISM, CIPSMN, or another recognized procurement qualification will be an added advantage.
• A minimum of 8 years' experience in procurement, commodity sourcing, or supply chain management, with significant responsibility for raw materials within the animal feed, poultry, agro-processing, or related manufacturing industries.
• At least 5 years' hands-on experience sourcing feed ingredients and managing supplier relationships across Nigerian commodity markets.
• Strong knowledge of commodity sourcing, supplier management, inventory planning, landed-cost analysis, and procurement controls.
• Demonstrated experience negotiating with suppliers and developing reliable sourcing networks.
• Practical experience using ERP or materials management systems.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to travel regularly to supplier and sourcing locations.
