Their operations include a 10-metric-tonne-per-hour automated feed mill and a modern poultry facility with a total capacity of approximately 880,000 birds, producing an estimated 178 million eggs annually and arecommitted to operational excellence, product quality, innovation, and sustainable growth across the poultry value chain.

Description

• We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven General Manager – Feed Mill to lead our feed mill business and drive operational and financial performance.
• Reporting to the Managing Director/CEO, the successful candidate will have full responsibility for the strategic direction, profitability, production performance, asset utilisation, and overall management of the Feed Mill Business Unit. The role requires a seasoned leader with strong commercial acumen, deep technical knowledge of feed manufacturing, and the ability to build and lead high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the feed mill's strategic and operational plans to achieve business objectives.
• Lead all feed mill operations, ensuring efficient production, optimal capacity utilisation, cost control, and operational excellence.
• Drive business profitability through effective P&L management, budgeting, cost optimisation, and performance monitoring.
• Oversee production planning, engineering, maintenance, warehouse operations, inventory management, and feed formulation activities.
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Procurement, Quality Assurance, and other business units to ensure production aligns with market demand and customer requirements.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, product quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable quality standards, feed safety requirements, and regulatory obligations.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing management team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, distributors, suppliers, regulators, and other key stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science, Animal Nutrition, Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Agribusiness, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• A postgraduate qualification (MBA, MSc, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 12 years' experience in commercial animal feed manufacturing or a closely related agribusiness environment.
• At least 5 years' experience in a senior leadership role overseeing large-scale feed mill or manufacturing operations.
• Proven track record of managing business unit profitability (P&L), budgeting, operational performance, and cost optimisation.
• Strong understanding of feed mill operations, poultry nutrition, manufacturing processes, quality systems, and supply chain management.
• Demonstrated success in improving production efficiency, profitability, product quality, and operational performance.
• Strong leadership, strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and decision-making skills.
• Experience working with ERP systems and manufacturing management tools is an advantage.
