Job Description
- We are seeking a qualified and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems and equipment to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of company facilities and production equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems, equipment, and power distribution networks.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical installations to maximize equipment availability.
- Monitor and maintain electrical panels, switchboards, circuit breakers, transformers, and wiring systems.
- Inspect, test, and maintain earthing pits and grounding systems in compliance with electrical safety standards.
- Measure and record earth resistance values and conduct periodic testing of earthing systems.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot UPS systems, battery banks, inverters, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), and backup power systems.
- Monitor UPS battery performance and coordinate battery replacements when required.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot voltage stabilizers to ensure stable power supply to critical equipment.
- Provide electrical support for IT infrastructure, including server rooms, network racks, desktop workstations, printers, and communication equipment.
- Ensure uninterrupted electrical supply to IT equipment and maintain dedicated circuits for critical systems.
- Coordinate the installation and maintenance of generators and monitor power changeover operations.
- Diagnose electrical faults and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Conduct routine inspections and recommend repairs or replacements where necessary.
- Maintain lighting systems, power outlets, electrical cabling, and office electrical infrastructure.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations, company policies, and statutory requirements.
- Maintain maintenance logs, inspection reports, equipment history, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors on electrical maintenance, installations, and projects.
- Monitor inventory of electrical spare parts, tools, and consumables.
- Support the installation and maintenance of CCTV power supplies, access control systems, and other low-voltage electrical equipment.
- Respond promptly to electrical emergencies and ensure timely restoration of services.
- Identify opportunities for energy conservation and recommend improvements to electrical systems.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management related to electrical engineering and facility maintenance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in electrical maintenance and power systems.
- Sound knowledge of electrical distribution systems, earthing systems, UPS, ATS, generators, and voltage stabilizers.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documents.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of electrical safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and maintenance reporting.
