Job Title: Fitter / Machinist

Location: Lagos Mainland, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Description

  • We are seeking a skilled Fitter/Machinist with relevant industrial experience to join ouroperations team.
  • The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience in basic workshop practices and repair of industrial equipment, particularly compressors, pumps, boilers, and heat exchangers, as well as the ability to interpret engineering drawings, set up and operate machines (such as lathes, milling machines etc.), and manufacture precision components while ensuring quality and efficiency in production processes.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

  • Carry out installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, overhaul, and repair of mechanical equipment, including compressors, pumps, boilers, heat exchangers, and other rotating equipment.
  • Operate conventional workshop machines such as lathes, milling machines, drilling machines, grinding machines, and other machine tools to manufacture and refurbish components.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and work orders to produce precision parts.
  • Measure and inspect machined components using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers, dial gauges, and bore gauges.
  • Fabricate, modify, and repair machine parts to required tolerances.
  • Perform routine maintenance and servicing of workshop machines to ensure optimum performance.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop environment in compliance with company HSE policies.
  • Work closely with engineers and maintenance personnel to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Prepare maintenance and machining reports and maintain proper workshop records.
  • Ensure all assigned jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and within agreed timelines.

Qualifications and Experience

  • OND, Technical Diploma, Trade Test, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 3–5 years relevant experience in mechanical fitting, machining, or industrial maintenance. 
  • Age: 32 -38 years
  • Proven experience in machining, fabrication, and repair of industrial equipment.
  • Good knowledge of precision measuring instruments and engineering drawings.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
