Voltaire Lifestyle Services Limiterd are the owners of GAIA AFRICA Club and Gaby Lagos, luzury brands, situated in Victoria Island in Lagos State. It is a hospitality Company with a luxury restaurant, a private business club house and event management.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Membership Coordinator

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Role Purpose

  • The Membership Coordinator owns the full membership lifecycle for the Club, from identifying and engaging prospective members through to onboarding, retention, and re-engagement.
  • The role drives the Club towards "full membership" status and sustains it thereafter by managing attrition, deepening member experience, and growing revenue beyond membership dues.
  • Working alongside the Programmes Coordinator, the Membership Coordinator ensures that the Club's webinars, seminars, executive training, and gatherings are interesting, memorable, and well attended.
  • The role demands a creative, business-driven mindset and the ability to build lasting relationships with members, guests, speakers, sponsors, partners, and other stakeholders.

Principal Duties
Membership Development & Pipeline:

  • Understand the monthly membership target and seek out and identify potential members.
  • Assess and conduct due diligence on all membership applicants, including those recommended.
  • Follow through on the membership process and submit a robust weekly report, with recommendations on suitability, through the CEO to the Membership Committee.
  • Invite prospective members to tour GAIA House and convert enquiries to confirmed sign-ons.

Onboarding & Member Experience:

  • Onboard, orient, and acclimatise new members in line with the membership SOP.
  • Respond promptly to all member and membership enquiries, ensuring every member enjoys an exceptional experience.
  • Follow up with members on attendance at GAIA programmes and events.
  • Maintain strong, positive relationships with members throughout their tenure.

Retention, Subscriptions & Records:

  • Manage retention and minimise attrition.
  • Follow up on annual subscription payments, track the month-by-month expiry list, and reconcile collections with Finance.
  • Manage the Club's membership portfolio and database and coordinate all member communications with other departments.
  • Prepare monthly management reports on membership, including applications and status.

Growth, Revenue & Partnerships:

  • Develop and propose new membership classifications and fee structures to capture additional market segments where required.
  • Develop and implement strategies to grow revenue beyond membership dues.
  • Seek out and negotiate appropriate sponsorship deals and identify and secure suitable partners.
  • Research whether the membership offering should be expanded and evaluate member reactions to membership programmes.

Community, Communications & Insight:

  • Develop and run membership satisfaction surveys, acting on the findings.
  • Cultivate relationships with key community figures, local business leaders, partner organisations, and local and international media.
  • Contribute content to the monthly newsletter.
  • Own every aspect of the membership and community function.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Performance in the role will be assessed against the following measures, with specific targets agreed annually with the CEO.
  • Membership growth: Net new members signed vs. monthly/annual target.
  • Retention & attrition: Annual renewal rate; attrition kept below 5%.
  • Pipeline conversion: 90% of qualified applicants converted from enquiry to sign-on.
  • Subscription collections: 95% of subscriptions renewed on or before expiry date.
  • Member engagement: Member attendance rate across GAIA programmes and events.
  • Member satisfaction: Satisfaction survey score and enquiry response time.
  • Non-dues revenue: Revenue from sponsorships, partnerships, and new offerings.
  • Reporting discipline: Weekly applicant report and monthly membership report delivered on time.

Requirements
Education & Experience:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree.
  • 6 to 10+ years of experience in membership management, event planning, or a related role.
  • Prior membership club experience preferred but not essential.
  • Knowledge of membership management and client service, acquired through university education, further study, training, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of general business administration and project management practices, typically gained through about three years in progressively responsible roles.
  • A portfolio of successful programming.
  • Basic office computer proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe) for business communication.
