Job Title: Risk Strategist – Underwriting (Senior Role)

Description

• We're growing our Risk Management function and are looking for experienced professionals who can use data, strategy, and analytical thinking to strengthen our credit portfolio and drive better business decisions.
• This is a strategic, not purely operational, role.
• We're looking for professionals who can analyze trends, identify risks, and develop solutions that improve portfolio quality across the credit lifecycle.
• If you have experience in banking, financial services, fintech, or consumer lending and enjoy solving complex credit risk challenges, we'd love to hear from you
• We're looking for a strategic thinker who can transform portfolio data into smarter lending decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and improve underwriting policies and credit decision frameworks.
• Analyze portfolio performance, default trends, and customer risk.
• Develop risk segmentation and approval strategies.
• Monitor portfolio quality (PAR, NPL, early defaults).
• Recommend policy enhancements based on data and portfolio insights.
• Partner with business teams to improve portfolio performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7 - 9 years' experience in Credit Risk, Underwriting, or Portfolio Management.
• Strong analytical, financial modelling, and data interpretation skills.
• Banking, fintech, or financial services experience is preferred.

Salary
N1,000,000 Gross Monthly.
