Job Description
- We are looking for a skilled, dedicated, and experienced Carpenter to join our growing team.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for manufacturing, assembling, installing, and finishing high-quality bespoke furniture and joinery products.
- This role requires excellent craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to produce work to the highest standards while meeting project deadlines.
Key Duties
- Furniture manufacturing.
- Cabinet assembly.
- Kitchen and wardrobe production.
- Furniture installation.
- Workshop maintenance.
- Site installation and finishing.
- Material preparation.
- Machine operation.
- Quality control.
- Customer service during installations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture bespoke furniture, including kitchens, wardrobes, TV units, cabinets, office furniture, and other custom joinery products.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, production drawings, and specifications accurately.
- Measure, mark, cut, assemble, and install wood and other materials with precision.
- Generate and work from cut lists to ensure efficient material usage.
- Operate woodworking machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently.
- Carry out edge banding, drilling, routing, sanding, assembly, and finishing of furniture.
- Install completed furniture at customer sites to a professional standard.
- Conduct quality checks throughout production and installation.
- Carry out repairs, adjustments, and maintenance when required.
- Work closely with the design, production, and installation teams to ensure projects are delivered on time.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment.
- Ensure all work complies with company quality and health & safety standards.
Health & Safety Responsibilities:
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Operate machinery and tools safely and in accordance with company procedures.
- Report faults, hazards, accidents, or near misses immediately.
- Keep the workshop and work areas clean, tidy, and free from hazards.
- Follow all company health and safety policies and safe working practices.
Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 9:00am – 6:00pm.
- Saturday: As required for installations, factory production, or project deadlines.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Produce high-quality furniture that meets company standards.
- Complete projects within agreed deadlines.
- Maintain accuracy when working from technical drawings and cut lists.
- Minimise material waste and maximise efficiency.
- Achieve high customer satisfaction during installations.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping and workshop organisation.
- Comply with all company health and safety procedures.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as a Carpenter, Cabinet Maker, Joiner, or Furniture Maker.
- Ability to manufacture and install bespoke furniture.
- Experience using woodworking machinery such as panel saws, edge banders, routers, drills, planers, and sanders.
- Ability to read technical drawings and production plans.
- Good knowledge of furniture fittings, hardware, and installation techniques.
- Strong measuring and mathematical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
