We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Accountant

Location: Anambra, Nigeria
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Work Mode: Onsite
Reports To: CEO
Relocation: Support to relocate to Anambra.

Role Overview

  • We are looking for an Accountant to manage and grow the finance function of our newly built feed mill.
  • The successful candidate will report to the CEO and join the senior leadership team, guiding financial strategy operations and compliance to enable scale and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end financial management, accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial planning. Ensure regulatory compliance under Nigerian tax laws, IFRS/IFRS-compliant reporting, statutory filings and internal policies.
  • Manage cash flow, treasury activities, banking relations and liquidity planning. Drive cost control and profitability through robust cost accounting, standard costing, variance analysis and operational partnerships with production.
  • Oversee inventory management and valuation (raw materials, WIP, finished goods) and ensure accurate costing (COGS, margins).
  • Monitor accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and statutory deductions, ensure timely vendor payments and efficient cash cycle.
  • Design, implement and monitor internal controls, risk management, and fraud prevention measures.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
  • Lead financial systems implementation and optimization (ERP/SAP/Sage/Pastel or equivalent), ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy.
  • Prepare timely management reports, board packs, and ad-hoc financial analysis for strategic decision-making.
  • Support capital expenditure appraisal, project feasibility studies and ROI analysis for plant and equipment investments.
  • Mentor, develop and supervise finance staff, cultivate a high-performance finance culture.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Must be an Accountant with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in manufacturing or agribusiness finance; experience in a production processing environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, IFRS and statutory reporting requirements. Proven expertise in cost accounting, budgeting, variance analysis, cash flow management and financial controls.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Sage, Pastel or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with audit coordination and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent analytical, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work on-site in Anambra State and relocate if not currently based nearby.
