We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Mechanical Technician - Fitter, Northern Nigeria

Location: Kano

Purpose

  • The Mechanical Technician - Fitter is responsible for supporting operational efficiency and achieving business objectives through the maintenance, repair, installation, and servicing of assigned machines and equipment to ensure optimal plant performance and minimal downtime.

The Job

  • Diagnose and repair faults or damages on assigned machines and equipment.
  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on packing machines, carousels, packing conveyors, elevators, and other production equipment.
  • Support installation, fabrication, and modification activities as required.
  • Execute planned maintenance activities according to established schedules.
  • Monitor equipment performance and promptly address mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and job completion timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) requirements.
  • Adhere to all Food Safety System Certification (FSSC) standards and requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.

​Qualification​s

  • 5 O-Level credits, including Mathematics and English/ NABTEB, or Trade Test Grade.
  • NABTEB / City & Guilds (C&G) in a related discipline.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two (2) years' relevant experience in mechanical maintenance.

The Person Must:

  • Possess sound mechanical troubleshooting and fault-diagnosis skills.
  • Have practical knowledge of industrial maintenance practices and equipment repair.
  • Be able to read and interpret mechanical drawings and maintenance manuals.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
