Job Summary

  • Nairametrics is seeking an analytical, and detail-oriented Research Assistant to support our Research team in delivering timely, data-driven insights on the Nigerian economy, financial markets, and corporate landscape.
  • The ideal candidate is passionate about economics, finance, and business news, enjoys working with data, and has strong research and writing skills.
  • This role offers an opportunity to contribute to high-impact research publications while developingexpertisein economic and financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and track economic, financial, and corporate developments across Nigeria and global markets.
  • Collect, verify, and organize data from credible sources such as the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Debt Management Office (DMO), and other regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain and update internal research databases withaccurateandtimelyinformation.
  • Support the Research team in gathering data, conducting analysis, and developing insights for reports, articles, and research publications.
  • Assistin drafting data-driven news stories, research briefs, and market updates.
  • Identifyemerging economic trends and research opportunities that can be developed into compelling content.
  • Curate relevant economic and financial information from reputable sources to support research activities.
  • Collaborate with analysts and other team members on special research projects and assignments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience in research, journalism, or financial services.
  • Understanding of Nigeria's macroeconomic environment and financial markets
  • Excellent research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to interpret data and communicate findings clearly.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
