Job Summary

• The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) provides strategic financial leadership for the organization by overseeing financial planning, accounting, treasury, budgeting, reporting, taxation, risk management, and corporate governance.
• The CFO partners with executive leadership to drive sustainable growth, improve profitability, optimize working capital, and ensure financial compliance across the company's wholesale and retail operations.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Leadership:

• Develop and implement the company's long-term financial strategy.
• Advise the CEO and Board on financial performance, risks, and investment decisions.
• Lead financial planning and support strategic business initiatives.
• Drive sustainable profitability and financial growth.

Financial Planning & Analysis:

• Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
• Monitor business performance against financial targets.
• Provide financial analysis to support pricing, expansion, and investment decisions.
• Develop dashboards and KPIs for executive reporting.

Financial Reporting & Accounting:

• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and applicable regulatory standards.
• Manage general accounting operations and financial controls.
• Ensure timely financial reporting to management and stakeholders.

Treasury & Working Capital Management:

• Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital.
• Oversee banking relationships and financing arrangements.
• Optimize inventory financing and cash conversion cycles.
• Monitor foreign exchange exposure where applicable.

Risk Management & Internal Controls:

• Develop robust financial control systems and risk management frameworks.
• Ensure effective internal controls across all business operations.
• Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Oversee internal and external audit processes.

Tax & Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with all tax obligations and statutory reporting requirements.
• Manage relationships with regulatory authorities, auditors, and financial institutions.
• Oversee corporate governance and financial compliance.

Commercial Finance:

• Partner with Sales, Procurement, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to improve profitability.
• Evaluate capital investments and expansion opportunities.
• Support pricing strategies through financial analysis.
• Monitor cost efficiency across the business.

Leadership & Team Development:

• Lead and mentor the finance and accounting teams.
• Develop finance policies, procedures, and performance standards.
• Build a high-performing finance function that supports business growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Master's degree (MBA, MSc Finance, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
• ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification is mandatory.

Experience:

• Minimum of 8–12 years of progressive finance experience.
• At least 4years in a senior finance leadership role.
• Experience within wholesale, retail, FMCG, manufacturing, or distribution sectors is strongly preferred.
• Proven experience in financial strategy, treasury, taxation, and business transformation.
