We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Pastoralist Paravet

Location: Nationwide
Employment Type: Full-time

Profile Summary

  • A passionate field-based Paravet responsible for supporting veterinary and extension activities across assigned communities.
  • The Paravet serves as the first contact for farmers on animal health and husbandry issues, ensuring timely treatment, vaccination, and data collection under the supervision of a Veterinary Doctor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level animal health services such as vaccination, deworming, and basic treatments.
  • Assist Vet Doctors in disease surveillance, diagnosis, and sample collection.
  • Train and sensitize farmers on animal health, hygiene, and good husbandry practices.
  • Monitor flock/herd health and promptly report any unusual signs or mortality.
  • Record all field activities, treatments, and farmer interactions.
  • Promote the use of Amo Farm’s veterinary products and services among farmers.
  • Support the implementation of biosecurity and feeding programs.

Qualifications & Experience

  • HND / B.Sc. in Animal Health, Animal Science, or related field.
  • Certification as a Paravet or Animal Health Technician (where applicable).
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in livestock or poultry field operations.
  • Basic understanding of disease symptoms and control methods.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with rural farmers.
  • Must be willing to travel extensively and work in rural areas.
