Operations Manager at Access Heart Foundation

At Access Heart Foundation, we are dedicated to transforming the healthcare landscape for underserved communities across Nigeria, with a primary focus on heart health. Despite cardiovascular disease being the leading cause of death globally, access to life-saving cardiac interventions remains out of reach for hundreds of millions of Nigerians, particularly in Northern Nigeria. The crisis is especially acute for children: over 80% of Nigerian children born with congenital heart defects die, compared to less than 5% in high-income countries. This disparity is not inevitable, it’s the result of geographic and economic barriers that we are systematically dismantling.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Operations Manager

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

  • AHF is at a pivotal stage of growth, with a major government research partnership, a cardiac surgical centre nearing activation in Kano, and a rapidly expanding portfolio of programmes and partnerships.
  • We are looking for an Operations Manager to sit at the centre of this, someone who can hold the operational engine together, build the internal systems that don't yet exist.
  • This is not a back-office role. The Operations Manager will be a key member of AHF's leadership team, working directly with the Executive Director and Co-Founders on everything from field programme coordination to partner management to organisational compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations across AHF's programmes, ensuring activities are on schedule and within budget
  • Build and maintain operational systems: SOPs, workflows, reporting templates, and internal coordination processes
  • Coordinate across AHF's programme teams and partners
  • Oversee logistics for field programmes, events, and missions
  • Support grant compliance: ensuring activities are documented, reported, and delivered on time
  • Manage procurement, vendor relationships, and administrative functions
  • Lead on HR coordination: supporting recruitment, onboarding, and staff management as the team grows
  • Produce regular operational and programme reports for the Executive Director and Board

What We Are Looking For

  • At least 5 years of operations or programme management experience, ideally in a nonprofit, NGO, or healthcare organisation
  • Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously without losing detail
  • Strong systems thinker: someone who builds structures, not just manages tasks
  • Experience working with government partners or in a regulated programme environment is a strong advantage
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, resource-constrained environment where priorities shift
  • Based in Lagos, with willingness to travel to field sites as required.

Application Closing Date
31st July, 2026.
