Job Summary

  • The Camp Manager reports to the Plant Manager and Head, Corporate Services.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management, administration, and continuous improvement of the site's accommodation facilities, ensuring the provision of safe, hygienic, comfortable, and efficient living conditions for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • The role oversees camp operations, including accommodation management, catering, housekeeping, laundry, facilities maintenance coordination, employee welfare, and third-party service providers.
  • Inherent in this role is ensuring compliance with the Company's Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) standards, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements while maintaining high service quality, optimizing operational resources, and working collaboratively with the Maintenance, Operations, HSE, and Corporate Services teams to support uninterrupted plant operations.

Responsibilties

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of all camp operations, including accommodation, catering, housekeeping, laundry, waste management, and recreational facilities to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Ensure all camp services comply with company policies, contractual obligations, statutory regulations, and industry best practices while maintaining high standards of hygiene, sanitation, and food safety.
  • Manage room allocations, occupancy planning, employee check-in/check-out processes, and accommodation logistics to maximize space utilization and resident comfort.
  • Supervise and manage third-party contractors and service providers, including catering, housekeeping, security, laundry, and other outsourced vendors, ensuring compliance with agreed service levels and contractual requirements.
  • Coordinate the maintenance and upkeep of camp buildings, utilities, furniture, equipment, and recreational facilities by working closely with the Maintenance team to ensure a safe and functional environment.
  • Implement and enforce Health, Safety, Environment (HSE), occupational health, and emergency response procedures, ensuring full compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Develop, monitor, and control camp operating budgets, inventories, and consumables while identifying opportunities to optimize costs without compromising service quality.
  • Address employee welfare concerns, complaints, and service requests promptly, fostering a safe, comfortable, and positive living environment for all camp residents.
  • Conduct regular inspections, audits, and performance evaluations of camp facilities, contractors, and service delivery to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Prepare and submit periodic reports on camp operations, occupancy, maintenance activities, contractor performance, incidents, budgets, and other key operational metrics for management review.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, regulatory authorities, and service providers to ensure seamless camp operations and high-quality service delivery.
  • Support business continuity and emergency response activities by ensuring camp facilities remain operational during emergencies and implementing corrective actions to minimize operational disruptions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Facilities Management, Business Administration, Hotel Management, Estate Management, or a related discipline.
  • Master's degree or relevant professional certification will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 8–12 years of progressive experience in camp management, hospitality management, facilities management, or site services, with at least 4–5 years in a managerial role.
  • Experience managing camp operations within power plants, oil & gas, mining, construction, manufacturing, or other remote industrial environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing outsourced service providers and multiple contractors.
  • Strong knowledge of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards, food safety regulations, and camp operational best practices.
  • Experience managing operational budgets, inventories, procurement processes, and service contracts.
  • Strong leadership, people management, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and camp or facilities management systems is an advantage.
  • Willingness to work in a remote site environment and provide operational support outside normal working hours when required.
