Job Summary

  • The Learning & Development (L&D) Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating the organization's learning and talent development strategy to build a high-performing workforce.
  • The role oversees all aspects of employee learning, leadership development, technical capability building, onboarding, performance improvement, succession planning, and organizational capability development.
  • The successful candidate will lead the L&D function, manage a team of learning professionals, collaborate with business leaders to identify capability gaps, and ensure learning interventions directly improve employee performance and business results.

Key Responsibilities
Learning Strategy & Organizational Development:

  • Develop and execute the organization's Learning & Development strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Conduct organization-wide training needs assessments.
  • Develop annual learning calendars and capability-building initiatives.
  • Identify competency gaps across departments.
  • Create career development and learning pathways for employees.
  • Establish a culture of continuous learning.

Training Design & Delivery:

  • Design and implement technical, behavioural, leadership, and compliance training programmes.
  • Develop instructor-led, virtual, and e-learning programmes.
  • Source and manage external training providers where necessary.
  • Develop internal training materials and learning resources.
  • Ensure all training programmes meet quality standards.

Leadership Development:

  • Design leadership development programmes for supervisors, managers, and executives.
  • Coach managers on employee development.
  • Develop succession planning initiatives.
  • Identify and nurture high-potential employees.
  • Support management development programmes.

Performance Improvement:

  • Partner with HR Business Partners and department heads to identify performance gaps.
  • Recommend learning interventions to improve productivity.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training using measurable business outcomes.
  • Support Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) through targeted coaching and development.

Talent Development:

  • Develop competency frameworks.
  • Implement Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
  • Coordinate graduate trainee and internship programmes.
  • Develop mentorship and coaching programmes.
  • Support employee career progression initiatives.

Learning Technology:

  • Manage the organization's Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Maintain training records and compliance reports.
  • Utilize digital learning tools and learning analytics.
  • Promote blended learning approaches.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the L&D team.
  • Set departmental KPIs and performance expectations.
  • Allocate resources and manage workloads.
  • Conduct regular coaching and performance reviews.
  • Foster collaboration and innovation within the team.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Partner with department heads to understand learning needs.
  • Present learning reports to senior management.
  • Manage relationships with external training consultants and institutions.
  • Coordinate learning budgets and vendor negotiations.

Compliance:

  • Ensure mandatory regulatory and compliance training is completed.
  • Maintain accurate learning records.
  • Ensure compliance with labour regulations and industry standards.
  • Develop policies related to learning and development.
