Job Description
- We areseeking to hire a Inspection & Valuation Officer is responsible for conducting detailed inspections of repossessed vehicles, determining accurate market values, documenting vehicle conditions, and recommending appropriate selling prices.
- The role ensures that all vehicle valuations are accurate, market-driven, and aligned with the company's recovery objectives while minimizing losses arising from incorrect valuation.
Responsibilities
- Conduct physical inspection of all repossessed vehicles upon recovery.
- Assess vehicle condition including engine, transmission, suspension, interior, exterior, electrical components, mileage, tyres, and accessories.
- Identify damages, defects, missing parts, and repair requirements.
- Verify vehicle specifications and documentation.
- Take and maintain photographic evidence of vehicle condition.
- Determine fair market value of repossessed vehicles using prevailing market data.
- Assess depreciation, condition, mileage, age, and demand factors.
- Prepare accurate valuation reports for management review and approval.
- Review and update vehicle valuations when market conditions change.
- Ensure valuations are neither inflated nor undervalued.
- Recommend appropriate selling prices based on valuation findings.
- Provide approved pricing information to the Marketing Team and Car Sales Team.
- Ensure pricing recommendations support profitable and timely vehicle disposal
- Escalate unusual valuation cases for management review.
- Maintain complete inspection and valuation records.
- Supervise the activities of the Car Sales Manager.
- Monitor vehicle sales performance and disposal timelines.
- Review aging inventory and recommend disposal strategies.
- Ensure vehicles are marketed and sold within approved timelines.
- Escalate delayed sales and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure approved vehicle prices are adhered to throughout the sales process.
- Ensure all valuation reports are properly documented and filed.
- Prepare periodic reports on inspected and valued vehicles.
- Support audits and management reviews when required.
- Monitor vehicle market trends and resale values.
- Track competitor pricing and industry benchmarks.
- Provide market insights that support vehicle disposal decisions.
- Ensure all valuation activities comply with approved company procedures.
- Maintain objectivity and integrity during inspections and valuations
- Report any suspected fraud, tampering, or misrepresentation immediately.
- Any other duties as assigned by your supervisor and management
- Must also know how to sell cars.
Requirements
- Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 years experience.
- Experience in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Technology or a related field with experience in vehicle inspection, automobile valuation, fleet management, asset recovery, vehicle sales, or related fields.
- Experience in vehicle financing, recovery operations, or automobile dealerships is an added advantage.
- Must know how to use a technological skill to assess cars both online and physically.
Salary
N40,000 - N60,000 / Month.
