Job Title: Sonographer

Locations: Benin - Edo and Warri - Delta

Job Summary 

  • We are seeking a highly skilled, dedicated, and compassionate Sonographer to join our growing healthcare team.

  • As a Sonographer, you will play a vital role in supporting accurate diagnosis by performing a wide range of ultrasound examinations in accordance with established clinical protocols and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, obstetric, gynecological, vascular, musculoskeletal, small parts, and general ultrasound scans.
  • Produce clear, accurate, and comprehensive ultrasound images to assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures by explaining the examination process and addressing their concerns.
  • Ensure patient comfort, dignity, and confidentiality throughout the examination.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment while ensuring optimal image quality.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, reports, and imaging documentation.
  • Recognize abnormal findings and communicate urgent observations promptly to the attending physician.
  • Adhere to infection prevention and control guidelines, radiation safety policies (where applicable), and quality assurance standards.
  • Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and continuous professional development.
  • Collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degreein Medical Imaging, Radiography, or a related field.
  • Professional certification and valid practicing licence.
  • Minimum of 2 – 5 years of post-qualification experience in diagnostic ultrasonography.
  • Proficiency in obstetric, gynecological, abdominal, and general ultrasound imaging.
  • Excellent knowledge of ultrasound equipment and imaging techniques.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Doppler and vascular ultrasound.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent patient care and customer service orientation.
