Job Description

• We are seeking to recruit a competent, experienced, and safety-conscious Hydraulic Mechanic to join its Maintenance Team and support the efficient operation of its fleet of heavy-duty vehicles, earthmoving equipment, and construction machinery.

Key Responsibilities

• The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Diagnosing and repairing hydraulic faults on heavy-duty vehicles and construction equipment.
• Inspecting, servicing, and replacing hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders, valves, hoses, and related components.
• Conducting hydraulic pressure testing and performance evaluations.
• Performing scheduled preventive maintenance on hydraulic systems and components.
• Troubleshooting hydraulic leaks, pressure loss, overheating, and operational failures.
• Responding promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records, job cards, and service reports.
• Conducting post-repair testing to ensure equipment is fit for operation.
• Adhering to all company maintenance procedures, safety policies, and HSE requirements.
• Working closely with mechanics, electricians, operators, and supervisors to achieve operational objectives.

Requirements
Interested candidates must possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• OND, Trade Test Certificate, Technical School Certificate, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant professional certifications will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years' proven experience as a Hydraulic Mechanic working on heavy-duty vehicles and construction equipment.
• Experience working on excavators, wheel loaders, cranes, bulldozers, forklifts, low beds, and other earthmoving equipment.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders, control valves, hoses, fittings, and hydraulic circuits.
• Ability to diagnose and repair hydraulic faults, leaks, pressure loss, overheating, and system failures.
• Ability to rebuild and service hydraulic cylinders, pumps, and motors.
• Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics, technical manuals, and maintenance procedures.
• Good understanding of hydraulic pressure testing and troubleshooting techniques.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and respond to equipment breakdowns.
