Job Description

• Vaclue Marine Limited is seeking to recruit a competent, experienced, and safety-conscious Heavy-Duty Vehicle Mechanic to join its Maintenance Team and support the efficient operation of its fleet of trucks, low beds, earthmoving equipment, and construction machinery.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults on heavy-duty vehicles and construction equipment.
• Performing scheduled preventive maintenance and servicing activities.
• Repairing and overhauling engines, transmissions, differentials, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical components.
• Conducting routine inspections to identify potential defects and prevent breakdowns.
• Responding promptly to equipment and vehicle breakdowns to minimize operational downtime.
• Replacing worn or defective parts and ensuring all repairs meet required standards.
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records, job cards, and service reports.
• Conducting pre-deployment inspections to ensure equipment is fit for operation.
• Adhering to all company maintenance procedures, safety policies, and HSE requirements.
• Working closely with operators, electricians, supervisors, and other maintenance personnel to achieve operational objectives.

Requirements

• OND, Trade Test Certificate, Technical School Certificate, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years' proven experience as a Heavy-Duty Vehicle Mechanic.
• Experience working on heavy-duty trucks, low beds, excavators, wheel loaders, cranes, generators, and other construction equipment.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmission systems, braking systems, steering systems, and suspension systems.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical faults accurately and efficiently.
• Experience in carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance on heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, maintenance schedules, and repair procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and respond to emergency breakdowns.
• Relevant professional certifications will be an added advantage.
